In Honor of National Women's Month it's an all Women's Exhibit

This Artist Veronica L. Kortz returned to the world of Fine Art with the New Millennium even though her interest in Art was always expressed in her teaching and fostered in her students. She consistently receives awards for her oil paintings from several city art associations. She loves traveling and exploring new places. Veronica has painted in France, Italy, Croatia, Egypt, Maryland, Cooperstown, NY, Greece, London and Bali, Indonesia, Spain, Jersalem as well as throughout California beaches, mountains, lakes, deserts and Catalina Island. Her Education graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Art Education from the University of the Americas. She attended one summer at the Banff School of Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada. Art has always been a part of her life, from ceramics, stain glass, home design, and decorating. She enjoys both Fine Arts and Language Arts and received her M.S. in Reading Education from CSUF. She is currently a Reading Specialist at Rio Hondo College and an Art Instructor at Fullerton Sunnycrest Senior Living (Tuesdays 1 - 5 pm)and La Habra Art Gallery (Thursdays 2 - 6 pm) through Orange County Community College District. Veronica's Art Training has Attended workshops and course work with Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Genevieve Bennett, John Budicin, Val Carson, Debra Davidson, Robin Hall, Regina Hurley, Manuel De Leon, Don Demers, Louise De More, Mark Kerckhoff, Jim Lamb, Kwok Wai Lau, Ying Liu, Frank La Lumia, Robbie Miller, Elin Pendelton, Ray Roberts, Vito-Leonardo Scarola, Rudy Spadano, Peg Simmons, George Strickland, Martha Suadek, Brenda Swenson, John Paul Thornton, Kim VanDerHoek, Megumi Wallech Her Painting Approach in artwork now has taken resurgence in two forms one being large studio works and the plein aire (French term for open air or outdoors) studies with oil painting being free and expressive. Her oil painting with some water colors and pastels and pencil works are about her favorite places throughout her travels or special people. They are focused in the moment and most are completed on location or in a single day to capture the immediacy of the single experience of mood, color, reflection of time and space. Each painting captures a single moment a precious time in history never to be the same again. The process is exciting, there is high energy flowing in her brush strokes, beautiful color harmony, strong composition in her work.
